“Juniper Cottage” was completed in June 2005 for its architect owner and her family.

The property provides bright and spacious holiday accommodation for families or other groups. It is centrally located in a quiet street behind Elie Main Street, 2 minutes walk from the beach. The property sleeps 8, has its own secure garden and off street parking and has been fully fitted out to the owner’s exacting standards.

The upper floor also has a large seating area giving views over the garden. A fold down sofa provides and extra double bed, if required. The house is equipped with a modern wide-screen TV, video and DVD players, CD and tape decks.

On the ground floor, the house has an entrance hall, 2 twin bedrooms (one en suite), the “cabin room”, separate toilet/shower room and an indoor garage/store room giving access to a small laundry area. The entire ground floor is slate tiled and has under floor heating.

Bedroom 1 has twin beds, a large window to the west and French doors to the south giving access to a patio and sheltered south facing garden. This room gives access to a walk-in wardrobe area. The en suite has a toilet, sink, bath (with power shower), large mirrored cupboards and limestone tiling.

The upper floor is accessed from a timber stair rising from the hall.  The entire upper floor is bright open “living” space with an abundance of rooflights and a large south facing window. The kitchen/dining area is located at one end and is fully equipped with gas hob and electric double oven, fridge, freezer, dish washer, microwave, kettle, toaster and extensive storage areas. The dining table seats 8 and can extend to accommodate another 2. The kitchen is fully equipped with an extensive range of pots, pans and other utensils, glass wear and quality cutlery and crockery.

 

Bedroom 2 also has twin beds and a large window to the west. Directly opposite, across the hall, is the second toilet/shower room. This has a WC, a sink and a large walk-in shower area with power-shower and mirrored cupboards. The room has natural lighting and repeats the limestone tiling featuring in the en suite bathroom.

The “cabin room” has four full size built in bunk beds and 2 port holes and a further window to the north. It provides excellent accommodation for 4 youngsters or more mature deck hands.

 

The garden to the south is flat, fully enclosed, largely grassed and is an ideal area for children. A barbeque and garden furniture are provided.

To the north, the property is accessed from Kirk Park Road and there is off-street parking for one car. The house has an outside shower to the front to allow washing down of wetsuits etc.

 


 

 

 

The ground floor also incorporates an indoor garage which, if not used for parking, provides excellent storage for bikes, golf clubs etc. The laundry is located in a small under stair area off the garage. This contains a washing machine/tumble dryer, ironing board and iron, vacuum cleaner and spare towels/line.
